When Kali put her foot on Shiva…
A dancing dark flame she was
In rhythmic steps of destruction
Spluttering in a wild laughter
Every now and then…
But when her foot touched the chest
Covered with ash, suddenly she was stilled
For there was nothing to burn.
Who could this be
With no impurity that could catch fire?
There she met the gaze of the Third Eye
On the smiling face of sleeping Shiva!
Her red tongue rolled out in shame
She withdrew her foot
But Shiva drew her close
And thus there was union
Of the two flames
one red the other blue…
